James Murdoch Knew Of Phone Hacking, Tabloid Execs Say

Law360, New York (September 6, 2011, 3:35 PM EDT) -- Two former News of the World executives told a parliamentary panel Tuesday they had informed News International Ltd. Chairman James Murdoch of evidence indicating reporters at the now-defunct tabloid were illegally hacking phones.

The claims by Tom Crone, the paper's in-house attorney, and Colin Myler, its editor, contradict earlier testimony by Murdoch and his father, media mogul Rupert Murdoch, making it likely that at least the younger Murdoch will be recalled to Parliament to clarify his comments.
