UK Bans 'Misleading' General Mills Fajita Kit Ad

Law360, New York (September 7, 2011, 5:49 PM EDT) -- Britain's advertising watchdog on Wednesday banned a General Mills Inc. television ad for Old El Paso Crispy Chicken Fajita dinner kits, saying the commercial misled consumers into believing the kit's ingredients included chicken and sour cream.

The Advertising Standards Authority found that the ad's disclaimer — “Fresh chicken not included” on the screen at the beginning of the video — was not enough to dissuade viewers from believing that the package came with chicken.
