Pakistani Man Admits To Illegal Exports Of Nuke Materials

Law360, New York (September 12, 2011, 11:40 AM EDT) -- A Pakistani national living in Maryland pled guilty Friday to conspiring to export nuclear-related materials from the United States to his home country.

Nadeem Akhtar, 46, of Silver Spring, Md., admitted that between 2005 and 2010 he exported radiation detection devices, resins for coolant water purification and other restricted material without first obtaining the requisite licenses, according to prosecutors.
