General Dynamics Settles DataTern Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 12, 2011, 6:00 PM EDT) -- General Dynamics Corp. on Monday settled a patent infringement suit brought by DataTern Inc. in Texas over database technology, agreeing to pay an undisclosed amount to end the litigation.

The settlement, approved by U.S. District Judge T. John Ward, ends DataTern's five-month-old suit against the defense contractor. DataTern sued it and 10 other large corporations in April for allegedly infringing a patent on relational databases.

Judge Ward's order approving the deal does not indicate how much General Dynamics will pay. Attorneys for the parties did not...
