Righthaven Says Attys' Fees Could Send It Bankrupt

Law360, New York (September 12, 2011, 7:35 PM EDT) -- Copyright holding company Righthaven LLC told a Nevada federal judge Friday that bankruptcy or an asset sale may be its only options if it has to pay $34,000 in attorneys' fees to a man it unsuccessfully sued for reposting a Las Vegas Review-Journal article online.

Days before Righthaven's Wednesday deadline to pay Wayne Hoehn's attorneys' fees under court order, the company filed an emergency motion to put off the deadline while its appeal was pending.
