Infineon Denied Retrial In Voltage Regulator IP Fight

Law360, New York (September 12, 2011, 10:28 PM EDT) -- A California magistrate judge on Monday denied Infineon Technologies AG a new trial on allegations that it infringed Volterra Semiconductor Corp.'s patents for a voltage regulator, ruling that the patent claims were valid and not obvious.

A jury decided in May that Infineon had infringed five of Volterra's patents regarding now-discontinued voltage regulators that Infineon subsidiary Primarion Inc. sold in 2008 and 2009, rejecting Infineon's claims that certain claims in the patents were too obvious to be valid.
