US Wastes Billions On Contractors, Watchdog Says

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 2:44 PM EDT) -- The U.S. government pays contractors nearly two times more than federal employees in total compensation, wasting billions of tax dollars annually, the Project on Government Oversight said in a report Tuesday.

The good government watchdog analyzed total compensation for federal and private sector employees along with annual billing rates from the General Services Administration for contractors in 35 occupational classifications.
