Judge OKs $66M Settlements, Atty Fees In Shipping MDL

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 6:51 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Tuesday granted final approval to $66 million in settlements resolving a class of direct purchasers' claims that several companies fixed prices for freight services between the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and awarded class counsel more than $15 million in fees.

U.S. District Judge Daniel R. Dominguez gave a final sign-off on the class' deals with Horizon Lines Inc., Sea Star Line LLC and Crowley Liner Services Inc., which he had previously declined to do because of concerns over class counsel's fee request....
