Air Force, EPA Agree To Ariz. Superfund Cleanup Plan

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 5:44 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Tuesday that it had entered into an agreement with the U.S. Air Force and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality to clean up a Tucson Superfund site that has been the source of contaminated groundwater for decades.

According to the EPA, decades of disposal and waste management practices at Air Force Plant 44 have resulted in the contamination of the groundwater at the site, which lies southwest of Tucson International Airport and was incorporated into the Tucson International Airport Area...
