ITC Takes Up Latest Renesas-Vizio TV Patent Fight

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 6:02 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission agreed Tuesday to investigate Renesas Electronics Corp.'s claims that Vizio Inc. has imported televisions that infringe the Japanese company's semiconductor patents.

The probe stems from an Aug. 12 complaint from Renesas and 511 Technologies Inc., a Texas-based unit in charge of protecting Renesas' intellectual property, alleging that Vizio's digital televisions infringe two of Renesas' semiconductor component patents.
