Airline Security Measures For Children Streamlined: DHS

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 8:42 PM EDT) -- Children under 12 may soon be able to go through airport security without taking off their shoes or receiving invasive pat downs from U.S. Transportation Security Administration officers, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano said Tuesday.

Napolitano told senators that the changes are one of several pilot programs the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has developed to streamline security procedures for “low-risk” travelers.
