Northrop Must Build $20M Superfund Cleanup System

Law360, New York (September 14, 2011, 8:05 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday ordered Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. to build a $20 million groundwater cleanup system at a California Superfund site in an effort to decontaminate drinking water for more than 1 million residents in the area.

According to the EPA, the cleanup system will deal with the groundwater contamination at the former Benchmark Technology facility in Industry, Calif., located within the Puente Valley area of the San Gabriel Valley Superfund sites.
