Ex-Dowd & Dowd Atty Drops Sex Bias Suit

Law360, New York (September 14, 2011, 8:12 PM EDT) -- A former Dowd & Dowd Ltd. associate who claimed she was asked to perform secretarial work and was fired for complaining dropped her sex discrimination suit against the firm Wednesday.

A stipulation filed by both parties in Illinois federal court asked U.S. District Judge Ronald Guzman to dismiss the case with prejudice, but gave no further details on any kind of settlement agreement. Named plaintiff Veronica Masaitis declined to comment and attorneys for the firm could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday.
