Industrial Cleaning Cos. Sued Over Ga. Superfund Costs

Law360, New York (September 19, 2011, 1:42 PM EDT) -- The U.S. on Friday sued two industrial cleaning companies and their owner for more than $713,000 in response costs over Superfund sites in Georgia that a onetime business associate used for his waste recycling business before he eventually went bankrupt.

Richard Middleton and his companies, Circle Environmental Inc. and Waterpollutionsolutions.com Inc., arranged for containers of rags and pads soaked with hazardous substances to be sent to Scott Harpole's business for treatment, according to the government's complaint under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act....
