Mercedes, BMW Coast Out Of Cruise Control IP Row

Law360, New York (September 20, 2011, 7:50 PM EDT) -- Mercedes-Benz USA LLC and BMW AG on Tuesday exited a lawsuit a Texas patent-holding company filed against a slew of car manufacturers for allegedly infringing patents for cruise control technology.

U.S. District Court Judge Leonard Davis dismissed units of Mercedes-Benz and BMW from the suit brought by Stragent LLC and Texas nonprofit firm SeeSaw Foundation, which owns the patents and licenses them to the holding company. The terms of the deal were kept confidential.
