Liberty Title Exec Gets 20 Months For Embezzlement

Law360, New York (September 20, 2011, 7:45 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge sentenced the co-founder of Liberty Title Agency LLC to 20 months in prison Tuesday for allegedly siphoning millions of dollars of clients' funds for his personal use, including the payment of unrelated business debts.

Brian H. Madden, the former president of of one of New York state's largest independently owned title insurance agencies, will also be under supervision for two years after his release, according to prosecutors.
