Solyndra Bust Prompts House Inquiry Into Loan Programs

Law360, New York (September 20, 2011, 2:01 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives' Oversight and Government Reform Committee's chairman said Tuesday that he planned to investigate government loan programs like the one that helped fund now-bankrupt solar panel company Solyndra LLC, saying corruption in such programs “seems to be endemic.”

Also on Tuesday, two top executives for Solyndra reportedly notified the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which is conducting its own investigation into the company's bankruptcy, that they will plead the Fifth Amendment at a hearing Friday.
