3rd Circ. KOs $1M Suit Over George Foreman Trademark

Law360, Los Angeles (September 20, 2011, 8:16 PM EDT) -- The Third Circuit on Tuesday affirmed a lower court’s dismissal of a California attorney’s breach of contract claim over his sale of trademarks related to George Foreman and his famous grill to an appliance company for cash and stock.

The appeals court found that Sam Perlmutter, a Los Angeles attorney who introduced the boxing legend to the Lean, Mean, Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine, could not state claims for breach of contract and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing over his $5.5 million...
