Boeing, GE Sued Over Shoddy Engine Turbine Disks

Law360, Chicago (September 22, 2011, 6:24 PM EDT) -- Singapore-based Jett8 Airlines PL sued Boeing Co. and General Electric Co. in Illinois state court  Wednesday alleging that Boeing leased it a plane with a GE engine containing faulty turbine disks that destroyed the engine and damaged the aircraft.

Jett8, which bills itself as Singapore's first privately owned airline, claims that the negligence of Boeing and GE caused serious damage to the plane — and Jett8's business — when one of the disks fell off the engine during an international flight in 2009.
