Judge Bars Mylan's Generic Doryx For Now

Law360, New York (September 22, 2011, 2:20 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey federal judge on Thursday blocked generic-drug maker Mylan Inc. from introducing its own version of the oral antibiotic Doryx until a court rules on patent infringement allegations brought by Warner Chilcott Ltd. in 2009.

In granting Warner Chilcott's request for a restraining order, U.S. District Judge William Martini found that the Irish drug company demonstrated a reasonable likelihood of success in proving that the patent for the drug is valid and that Mylan's plans for a generic violate it, according to the company....
