8th Circ. Backs Nucor Workers' $1.2M Win In Race Suit

Law360, San Diego (September 22, 2011, 5:17 PM EDT) -- The Eighth Circuit on Thursday affirmed a jury’s $1.2 million award to six current and former black Nucor Corp. employees in Arkansas who brought a race discrimination class action accusing the steel manufacturing company of creating a hostile work environment.

A three-judge panel knocked down Nucor’s challenges over a district court’s evidentiary rulings and the jury’s award of punitive damages.
