EU To Give 85% Of New Airline Emissions Permits For Free

Law360, New York (September 26, 2011, 3:26 PM EDT) -- The European Commission announced Monday that airlines flying to and from Europe would receive 85 percent of their greenhouse gas emissions allowances for free in 2012, the first year the aviation industry will be covered by Europe's Emissions Trading System.
