US Seeks Leukemia Drug Docs In Cephalon Marketing Probe

Law360, New York (September 27, 2011, 7:39 PM EDT) -- Cephalon Inc. said Friday that New York federal prosecutors had requested documents related to its leukemia drug Treanda as part of a probe into the Frazier, Pa.-based company, citing authority for the subpoena under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

The subpoena comes on the heels of the U.S. Department of Justice's request for more information from Cephalon as part of its investigation into off-label use of Treanda for treatment of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, according to pharmaceutical website Pharmalot.
