Ex-Landmark Power Broker Barred From Contacting Clients

Law360, New York (September 28, 2011, 4:06 PM EDT) -- A Texas judge on Wednesday granted energy brokerage Landmark Power Exchange LP's bid to temporarily bar a former broker — accused of stealing trade secrets, breaching a noncompete agreement and fleeing to a rival firm — from soliciting hundreds of clients.

Harris County District Court Judge Brent Gamble granted Landmark’s motion for a temporary restraining order against James Michael Derrett, ruling the firm would face imminent harm if he were given the opportunity to solicit the company's clients for his new employer, Choice Energy.
