Feds Lay Out Jury Instructions In CCI Bribery Case

Law360, New York (September 27, 2011, 8:43 PM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors in the Control Components Inc. foreign bribery case in California said Monday that they do not have to prove that defendants knew the legal definition of "foreign official" in order to win convictions in the case.

The argument, contained in a government brief about proposed jury instructions, comes as the two sides begin to clarify the meaning of some terms and elements of the alleged Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations in advance of a June trial.
