News Corp. Paper Broke Australia's Race Bias Law: Judge

Law360, Los Angeles (September 28, 2011, 6:07 PM EDT) -- An Australian judge on Wednesday found a News Corp.-owned daily newspaper and a popular conservative columnist guilty of breaking the country's anti-discrimination law by implying that fair-skinned Aboriginal people claimed they were black for personal gain.

Federal Court Justice Mordy Bromberg ruled that light-skinned Aboriginal people would likely have been offended, insulted or humiliated by two articles written by columnist Andrew Bolt and published by the Herald and Weekly Times Pty Ltd. in The Herald Sun.
