Court Shakes Head At Novartis In Famvir Spat

Law360 (June 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a blow to Novartis AG, an appeals court has shot down the pharmaceutical company's request to review the reinstatement of a patent challenge brought by Israel's Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. over the Swiss drug maker's genital herpes drug Famvir.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit said on its Web site on Thursday that it had denied Novartis' petition for rehearing and rehearing en banc.

The move lets stand the Federal Circuit's earlier ruling in March which revived Teva's patent challenge against Novartis....
