Defendants Trimmed In Tribune Trustees' Clawback Suit

Law360, New York (September 30, 2011, 2:13 PM EDT) -- A Minnesota federal judge on Thursday dropped two defendants from one of more than a dozen clawback suits by trustees for Tribune Co. to reclaim funds from the $8.3 billion leveraged buyout that hastened the media company's 2008 bankruptcy.

Granting the voluntary motions by Deutsche Bank, Wilmington Trust Company and Law Debenture Trust Company of New York, U.S. District Judge David S. Doty dismissed law firm Hanft Fride PA and individual Richard Burns from the suit, which seeks to salvage billions from shareholders to pay back...
