Some Managers Get Class Status In Rent A Car Suit

Law360, New York (June 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has granted part of a motion by a fired shift manager at Budget Rent A Car to certify a class against Budget and its parent company, Cendant Corp., for allegedly misclassifying certain workers as exempt from overtime wages.

Magistrate Judge Maria-Elena James granted Stanley Krzesniak’s motion to include current and former California station and shift managers in his class action, but refused to add branch managers, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Wednesday.
