De Beers Shakes Defunct Diamond Seller's Antitrust Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (September 29, 2011, 9:24 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge Thursday dismissed a bankrupt diamond seller’s antitrust suit accusing De Beers Family of Cos. subsidiary Diamond Trading Co. Ltd. of conspiring to monopolize the U.S. rough diamond market.

U.S. District Judge Kimba M. Wood granted Diamond Trading’s motion to dismiss the second amended complaint brought by Angela Tese-Milner, the Chapter 7 trustee of former New York diamond seller W.B. David & Co. Inc., finding most of the claims had been abandoned in an earlier version of the complaint.
