Tyco Sues Over Medical Fluid Injector Patent

Law360, New York (June 21, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Tyco Healthcare Group LP has filed a lawsuit against E-Z-EM Inc. over a patent covering medical fluid injectors, which are commonly used to introduce contrast media into a patient to improve imaging generated through methods like computer tomography, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging.

Tyco Healthcare, and subsidiaries Mallinckrodt Inc. and Liebel-Flarsheim Co. on Wednesday filed the suit against Lake Success, N.Y.-based E-Z-EM, which bills itself as a leader in products used for imaging the gastrointestinal tract.
