AOL, Yahoo Targeted By Internet Portal IP Blitz

Law360, New York (October 3, 2011, 4:54 PM EDT) -- A little-known Texas-based company fired off three lawsuits Friday claiming AOL Inc., Yahoo Inc. and IAC/InterActive Corp. infringed a software patent used in personalized Internet portals.

The suits by Portal Technologies LLC, filed in Texas federal court, target the customizable home pages of AOL and Yahoo, as well as IAC’s Each site can be outfitted with a user's email inbox and links to preferred sites and news.
