Listeria Worries Prompt Lettuce Recall In 19 States

Law360, New York (October 3, 2011, 7:25 PM EDT) -- California-based True Leaf Farms on Thursday recalled nearly 2,500 cartons of romaine lettuce from 19 states and Canada over fears the produce could be tainted with Listeria.

The recall comes on the heels of a deadly multistate Listeria outbreak traced to cantaloupes that left 84 people infected and 15 dead as of Sept. 29, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
