Nalco, Cleanup Crews May Be Liable For Corexit Injuries

Law360, New York (October 3, 2011, 10:54 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana federal judge on Friday ruled that Deepwater Horizon cleanup crews and Nalco, manufacturer of the oil dispersant Corexit used after the spill, have failed to prove their immunity to personal injury claims in multidistrict litigation brought by cleanup workers and nearby residents.

U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier's order, which preserved the immunity argument for reassertion, applies to a master complaint filed in March on behalf of boat captains, crew members, onshore workers and local residents who said BP, its partner companies and several contractors...
