IBM Bolsters Security Division With Q1 Labs Buy

Law360, New York (October 4, 2011, 5:12 PM EDT) -- IBM Corp. said Tuesday it would acquire Massachusetts-based security intelligence software company Q1 Labs to shore up its security systems offerings as an increase in corporate data breaches continues to drive up market demand.

IBM did not disclose financial terms of the deal, which comes one month after the computing giant inked a pair of deals to add business analytics firms i2 and Algorithmics Inc. to its newly formed security systems division.
