Ex-CME Programmer Denies Source Code Theft

Law360, Chicago (October 4, 2011, 2:27 PM EDT) -- An ex-CME Group Inc. senior software engineer pled not guilty in Illinois federal court Tuesday to stealing the global exchange operator's proprietary source code while planning to launch a business aimed at boosting trade on a Chinese futures exchange.

In a courtroom filled with members of the local Chinese-American community, defense attorney Edward Genson told U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael T. Mason that Chunlai Yang was entering a not guilty plea to the two counts of trade secret theft a grand jury charged him with last week....
