Immigrant Workers Get Jail Time For False ID

Law360, New York (June 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The last four ex-employees of a Texas meat processing plant have been sentenced to jail for using false identification to get their jobs and stay in the United States, in a case that has already netted jail time 53 undocumented workers at the company.

Three of the former employees at Swift & Co. in Cactus, Texas were handed eight-month jail sentences and another was sentenced to six months in the U.S. District Court for Northern Texas, U.S. District Attorney Richard Roper announced.
