Ex-Ohio Judge Gets 5 Years For Taking Bribes To Fix Case

Law360, New York (October 4, 2011, 5:23 PM EDT) -- A former Ohio county judge was sentenced to more than five years in prison Tuesday for taking bribes in exchange for fixing a foreclosure case at the behest of his political mentor.

Steven Terry, a former Cuyahoga County Common Pleas judge, received a 63-month sentence following his June conviction for conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. Following a weeklong trial, Terry was acquitted on two additional counts of honest services mail fraud.
