Circuit Remands Attorneys Fees In Chip Case

Law360, New York (June 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An appeals court has once again vacated a lower court order that reduced attorneys' fees for Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and IXYS Corp. in a dispute over a semiconductor patent, this time remanding to a different district court judge “to preserve the appearance of justice.”

The fee dispute stems from Samsung and IXYS' victory in a contempt action brought by International Rectifier Corp. based on supposed violations of a permanent injunction.
