FERC Scores Another Win In Competition Crusade

Law360 (June 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Rounding out a victorious week for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and for energy competition, an appeals court Friday upheld the Commission's authority to regulate against wholesale power market manipulation.

Commission Chairman Joe Kelliher lauded the ruling, which came on the heels of the approval of a new rates rule and a favorable Supreme Court decision, as “further confirmation that competition is national policy and that the Commission has the authority to enforce it.”
