Ex-Gibson Worker Makes Play For FLSA Certification

Law360, New York (October 11, 2011, 4:50 PM EDT) -- A former Gibson Guitar Corp. employee on Friday asked a Tennessee federal judge to certify a collective action that accuses the iconic guitar maker of violating state and federal labor laws by failing to pay overtime wages.

Lead plaintiff Pamela Roberts is seeking permission for the suit to proceed as an opt-in collective action under the Fair Labor Standards Act, which would allow her to expedite the process of notifying possible plaintiffs.
