Russia Says Wireless Cos. Fixed IPhone Prices

Law360, New York (October 12, 2011, 4:27 PM EDT) -- Russia's antitrust watchdog accused two cellular providers Wednesday of colluding on the prices charged for Apple Inc.'s popular iPhones in the country.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service opened a case against Mobile TeleSystems OJSC and VimpelCom Ltd. on Oct. 6 based on suspicions that the telecommunications companies had agreed not to compete with one another on rates for the smartphones, the regulator said Wednesday.

Both companies import the 16- and 32-gigabyte iPhone models into Russia, and the FAS said it suspected that most stores sold all iPhones...
