Insurer Seeks To Arbitrate Baby Monitor Coverage Suit

Law360, New York (October 12, 2011, 3:16 PM EDT) -- Lexington Insurance Co. asked a Rhode Island federal judge on Tuesday to force Summer Infant USA Inc. to arbitrate a dispute over coverage for an underlying class action accusing the infant products maker of selling baby monitors that compromise privacy.

In asking the court to either dismiss the suit or stay the action and compel arbitration, Lexington argued that the district court could not hear the suit because the subject policy contained a clause that required the parties to arbitrate any disagreements arising from the interpretation...
