Sony Hit With IP Suit Over Smartphone Coding Technology

Law360, New York (October 12, 2011, 9:31 PM EDT) -- Cascades Computer Innovation LLC hit Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications USA Inc. with a patent infringement suit Wednesday in Illinois federal court, accusing it of selling smartphones that violate a patent covering binary translated code.

According to the complaint, Sony’s Xperia line of products — including the Xperia Play 4G, Xperia Play, Xperia Arc, Xperia Arc S and Xperia Ray smartphones — infringe the patent.
