Lawmakers Push Supercommittee To Cap Contractor Pay

Law360, New York (October 13, 2011, 3:48 PM EDT) -- Three lawmakers from both parties Wednesday urged the congressional deficit-reduction supercomittee to lower the current cap on government reimbursement for contractors' executive pay and to apply the cap more broadly than a similar proposal by President Barack Obama.

While Obama has proposed limiting government payments for executives to $200,000 — about level with the pay for top government officials, including cabinet secretaries — he targeted only reimbursements for the five highest-paid executives at each company.  In their Wednesday letter to the Joint Select Committee on Deficit...
