NL Industries Escapes Lead-Paint Clean-Up Costs

Law360 (June 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In the latest of a slew of verdicts that have favored manufacturers of lead paint, a jury on Friday rejected the city of Milwaukee's claims that lead pigment maker NL Industries Inc. should pay for the cleanup of some 11,000 properties.

It is up to the city to pay $52.6 million to clean homes of lead paint in mostly poor neighborhoods, the Milwaukee County Circuit jury ruled.
