Feds Parry Ex-CIA Official's Selective Prosecution Claim

Law360, San Diego (October 13, 2011, 8:02 PM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors on Wednesday urged a Virginia federal court to reject a claim of selective prosecution made by a former CIA official accused of leaking classified information to a reporter.

In response to ex-CIA officer Jeffrey Alexander Sterling’s motion to dismiss the case based on selective prosecution or to take discovery on the issue, the U.S. argued that the bid should be denied because Sterling failed to point to a “shred of evidence” to support his claim.
