Stragent Drops Porsche From Voice Control Patent Suit

Law360, New York (October 13, 2011, 9:31 PM EDT) -- Porsche Cars North America Inc. on Thursday became the latest automaker to be released from a suit by patent holding company Stragent LLC alleging more than 20 companies infringed a patent for voice recognition technology.

Judge Leonard Davis of the Eastern District of Texas approved a voluntary dismissal order submitted by Stragent, dismissing the suit against Porsche and Germany-based Porsche Automobil Holding SE with prejudice.

The reasons for the voluntary dismissal were not disclosed, and representatives for Porsche were not immediately available for comment.
