Deepwater MDL Plaintiffs Denied Quick Wins

Law360, New York (October 14, 2011, 5:34 PM EDT) -- The Louisiana federal judge handling multidistrict litigation over the Deepwater Horizon oil spill ruled Friday that plaintiffs in six proposed class actions hadn’t offered enough evidence to win judgment against Transocean Ltd., Halliburton Energy Services Inc. and Cameron International Corp.

U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier shot down the plaintiffs’ motions for summary judgment against the companies, ruling they failed to show that no major factual issues remained in their cases.
