Samsung Launches IPhone 4S Suits In Japan, Australia

Law360, New York (October 17, 2011, 1:13 PM EDT) -- Samsung Electronics Co. lodged two fresh patent infringement suits against Apple Inc. in Australia and Japan on Monday, seeking to halt the sale of the latest iPhone 4S model in both countries.

Continuing what has become a scorched earth litigation strategy by both companies over patents covering mobile technology, Samsung filed motions for preliminary injunction in the New South Wales Registry and Tokyo District Court, asking the courts to immediately bar the sale of Apple's iPhone 4S, according to Samsung.
